Coordination, shown rather than described

One model. Three consultants. Press a discipline.

Federated model of a public market with architecture, structure and services overlaid. The architectural model of the market on its own. The steel roof structure isolated from the market model. The mechanical and electrical services isolated from the market model.

Every consultant arrives as IFC and is held as its own discipline, so a clash is found in the model rather than on site.

A concrete tower under construction against a blue sky, twelve floor plates cast and two tower cranes standing over it.

Forty levels above grade, four basements, and the set is on site. Eleven drawing disciplines came out of that model, authored single handed.

Every practice running Archicad is carrying model debt

Invisible until a deadline turns it into overtime.

  1. 01

The drawings drift from the model

Sheets edited instead of the model, so nobody knows which one is right at CD.

  2. 02

    Coordination lives in the inbox

Nothing tracked, nothing closed, and the same clash back three issues later.

  3. 03

    The standard dies in practice

A template exists, the reasoning does not, so every new joiner rebuilds it.

  4. 04

    Documentation caps the practice

What you can take on is bounded by the sets you can get out of the door.

Start wherever the risk feels lowest

Step 01

Model Health Check

No fee · 45 minutes

A screen share on your machine. Nothing leaves your office during the session and no file changes hands. You open any project you like, finished or live, and I ask questions while you navigate. Within two working days you get three findings in writing, with what each is costing you in hours. I will sign your NDA before we start, or send you mine.

The draft opens ready to send, with the questions already in it. Change what you like and hit send.

Step 02

Model and Standards Audit

from USD 4,500

Two to three weeks. Every finding ranked by severity, with the hours to fix each one.

If the audit does not surface at least ten material findings, you do not pay for it. In twelve years I have not opened a model that did not have them.

Ask about the audit
Step 03

Fractional BIM Manager

from USD 4,700 a month

The role held week to week: model reviews, consultant issues closed, the template maintained, new joiners up to speed. Without the salary, the recruitment, or the three month wait.

Ask about the retainer
Step 04

Implementation and training

from USD 25,000

Template, naming, attributes, classification, the written standard behind all of it, and the training that keeps it running after I leave.

Ask about implementation

Quoted in USD, GBP, EUR and CHF. The switch at the top of the page changes what you see.

Who you get

David Serrano at a desk in a pine forest studio, working on a tower model in Rhino with a Grasshopper definition open on the second screen.
David SerranoValle de Bravo, Mexico.

Twelve years. Eight of them at GRAPHISOFT, leading Archicad and BIMcloud adoption across Latin America. Then construction documentation on high rise real estate. Independent since.

OS Group is one person, and that is the whole offer. The judgement of someone who has held the role, with no account manager in between.

  • Certified International BIM Manager
  • BIMcloud Technical Expert
  • Archicad Professional
  • Two retained practices at a time, plus one audit a month

Open any of your models and I will tell you what I see.

Forty five minutes on a screen share, three findings in writing afterwards, at no charge. No file leaves your office.
